The Lakes
|
We
are located between Big & Little Newton Lakes in Northeast
Wisconsin and you can see the beach from our front window.
Both
lakes have public boat launches located within 100 yards of Lakeside
Bar, Grill & Lodging, and both lakes are known for good fishing. |
 |
 |
Little
Newton Lake is 58 acres, has a maximum depth of 53 feet, and
the fish species in the lake include bass, blue gills, northern
pike, and the mighty musky. You can water ski or jet ski on Little
Newton.
There
is also a nice sand beach on Little Newton Lake, and it is literally
right across the street from us.
While
you are enjoying the beach, you can walk across the road to our
walk-up window and order from our menu or enjoy a refreshing
beverage or ice cream. |
|
Big Newton Lake is
a little quieter lake. It is a favorite for fishing and canoeing,
and might be a good place to catch a sunrise. It is 67 acres,
has a maximum depth of 40 feet, and has bass, pan fish, northern
and musky as well. |

Winter
Fun
|
Now you didn't think
that we just close the doors in winter did you? Of course not!
We are located right on some of the best snowmobile trails in
northern Wisconsin at the junction of the Iron Snowshoe Trail
System and the Near North Trail System. |
 |
Snowmobilers love
our location at the intersection of the Near North and Iron Snowshoe
trail systems. More recently, the snowmobile clubs have been
allowing ATVs on the trails, and we welcome you guys too! There
are even web sites you can use to check out the trail conditions.

For those that prefer
silent sports in the winter, no problem! There is great ice fishing
on Big & Little Newton Lakes, and there are numerous places
to cross country ski or take a solitary hike in the woods. |

The
Area
|
The area surrounding
Lakeside Bar, Grill & Lodging is an outdoor recreation paradise.
We are within minutes of hundreds of thousands of acres of county,
state and national forests, and hundreds of lakes big and small.
Caldron Falls Flowage and High Falls Flowage are just a couple
of miles west of us, and include the new 10,000+ acre Peshtigo River State Forest and the new 2,200
acre Governor Thompson State Park. The Nicolet National Forest is immediately west
of the flowages, with about 1.2 million acres of land for you
to explore. Marinette County has a county forest where they have
roughly 140,000 acres open to you, along with about 140 miles
of nice ATV trails. There are also thousands of miles of class
A trout streams in Marinette County, the most in Wisconsin. There
is even a tour of 12 waterfalls that are mostly in
county parks. |
 |
Whatever you want to
do outside in northern Wisconsin, it is here. Hunting, fishing,
snowmobiling, ATV trails, cross country skiing, bike riding,
hiking in the woods, waterfalls, and whitewater rafting are all
available within about 10 miles of Lakeside Bar & Grill.
The sunsets are pretty nice too. . . |
